What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer - Security Clearance Required position at ManTech?
ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team based out of Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Installation and management of public and / or private networks such as Internet protocol (IP) networks, wide area networks (WANs), switches, routers (Cisco), and troubleshooting servers and networks to provide maximum performance.
Provide guidance to the Network / Server Lead, provide weekly and monthly performance reports, as well as daily reporting to the customer on all critical issues and their resolutions.
Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities, expertise to identify innovative solutions to most complex situations.
Direct and lead preparation of engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.
Develop infrastructure installation schedules and prepare site installation and trip reports and assist design of network installation configuration for new sites, support decommissioning of a site, and assist in moves, support computer systems and peripherals and analyzing and develop new hardware requirements and prepare specifications for hardware.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, technical systems engineers and business partners to trouble shoot complex issues.
Travel to customer sites and perform and / or lead deployment activities to include, site surveys, hardware installs, software installs, removing of hardware, checking hardware for shipment that connect to network, direct and lead preparation of drawings documenting network configuration changes at each site.
Minimum Qualifications :
5 years of experience in Information Technology, focus in networking, Cisco router and switch configuration, LAN, WAN management.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Hands-on experience and expertise in the installation and management of public and / or private networks such as Internet protocol (IP) networks, wide area networks (WANs), switches, routers (Cisco), and troubleshooting servers and networks to provide maximum performance.
Hands on experience with server installations including Windows Server, Oracle OEL, Linux and Database Support.
Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication both verbally and non-verbally to deliver updates; briefings; or interface with co-workers; leadership as well as customer.
One or more technical certifications, preferably in networking (e.g. CCNA, CCST, CCNP) required.
Must be able to travel up to 25% CONUS and / or OCONUS.
Preferred Qualifications :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
Prior experience supporting network and server installation, integration, and support in a federal government enterprise environment.
Experience contributing as part of an Agile team.
Experience with MS Power Automate, MS Dynamics, MS Power BI, MS SQL Server, Oracle, VMWare.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Productivity applications.
Clearance Requirements :
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to starting this position.
A current and active Secret clearance is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to physically lift equipment weight up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform installation work in constrained spaces like under work desks, in small cubicles, and counter window environments.
Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication both verbally and non-verbally to deliver updates; briefings; or interface with co-workers; leadership as well as customer.
Must be able to work in an office environment and be able to freely move within this space to utilize office equipment as well as interface with co-workers and customer.
Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals such as laptop, desktop, printer, fax machine, etc.
Must be able to deliver presentations as needed.
Must be able to review; decipher and understand program manuals; software / hardware manuals; training manuals; etc.
Experience operating littoral-like vessels and / or boats in domestic Australian waters / oceans, ports, ramps, and beaches.
Experience operating littoral-like vessels and / or boats in international waters / oceans, ports, ramps, and beaches within the South Pacific and desired experience operating in and around the Philippine Sea.
Preferred Qualifications :
Proven ability to coordinate assessments under high-level supervision
Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA)
Minimum of 36 months of sea service as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on vessels
At least 12 months must be as Chief Mate on ships
Physical Requirement :
Requires the ability to work aboard vessel and ashore
