Mantell Associates is exclusively partnered with a leading Cell Therapy CDMO, in their search for an Associate Director of Procurement and Planning to lead procurement and supply planning functions within the organization.
Associate Director of Procurement and Planning - Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and execute the supply planning process to ensure alignment with demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory goals
- Optimize strategic sourcing strategy for all materials used in manufacturing and development work
- Establish and implement procurement strategies to source materials and services in a cost-effective and quality-driven manner
- Act as a key liaison between supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, development, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations
- Apply operational excellence principles (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize supply chain processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce waste
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth
- Maintain alignment with project management teams to ensure availability of all materials according to project requirements and timelines
- Negotiate contracts and agreements that align with business goals, focusing on quality standards, sustainability, and cost-savings
Associate Director of Procurement and Planning - Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific or engineering discipline
- Graduate studies and/or certification in supply chain management is a plus
- 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain roles, with demonstrated expertise in supply planning and procurement
- Experience in a GMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment; sourcing and procurement for Cell Therapy (preferred) or large molecule CDMOs
- Track record leading cross-functional teams and managing complex supply chain roles, with demonstrated experience in supply planning and procurement
- Proficiency in supply chain systems and ERP platforms
- Expertise in inventory optimization, procurement negotiations, and supplier management
- Broad understanding of GMP quality systems and procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style
- On-site presence is required to facilitate real-time collaboration and ensure operational effectiveness
