The Volleyball Coach is responsible for developing and leading the volleyball program at Manti High. This role includes coaching student-athletes, organizing practices and games, teaching fundamental and advanced skills, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. The coach is expected to uphold the mission and values of the school while fostering a positive and competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective practice plans and game strategies.
- Teach fundamental volleyball skills and game knowledge.
- Foster sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork among players.
- Oversee player development, conditioning, and injury prevention.
- Organize and supervise tryouts, practices, and games.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and the athletic director.
- Ensure compliance with Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) rules and regulations.
- Coordinate team travel, scheduling, and equipment management.
- Promote academic success and character development among student-athletes.
- Assist in fundraising, community outreach, and program development.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience (preferred) or extensive playing experience.

Must be willing to complete Utah Coaching Certification requirements as outlined by the Utah High School Activities Association.
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and UHSAA regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass criminal background check and adherence to school district policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching certification or experience in education.
- Playing or coaching experience.
- Understanding of strength and conditioning principles.
Work Schedule:
- Practices and games occur after school hours and on weekends.
- Seasonal commitment (Fall for high school girls; Spring for high school boys; additional off-season training may be required).
Compensation:
- Based on school district policies and coaching experience.
