Dispensary General Manager
Dispensary operations with direct oversight from Executive Management. Follows established policies and procedures, contributes to the development of new concepts, policies, procedures, and SOP’s as necessary to accomplish business objectives. Provides an outstanding patient experience while maximizing revenue goals, leading management & development for staff, and ensuring compliance with all inventories, security, system, and company protocols.

This is a full-time exempt position working flexiable weekdays and weekends.
responsibilities WILL INCLUDE
- Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and federal and state laws
- Provide expertise and knowledge to patients and explain potential benefits and risks of each product sold pertaining to strains of therapeutic cannabis and the evaluated patients’ needs
- Sales oriented individual should be passionate about the benefits of medical cannabis and making a difference in our patients’ lives.
- Develop, document, and implement practices, policies, and strategies that support performance and results driven culture.
- Strong drive for patient retention
- Manage and maintain all operational SOP’s
- Manage and maintain a safe, clean environment and satisfaction of all patients and employees while following all health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with upper management, controller, sales director, compliance officer, vendors, contractors, and local community
- Implement company policies and ensure staff adheres to best practices, policies, procedures and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service and experience
- Ability to create a standard operating procedure (SOP) for new process implementation
- Understands NAV and the reporting system with ability to run and access reports
- Sales and inventory analysis, product category, discount analysis, trend identifications etc.
- Workable knowledge of the POS back-end system and reporting responsibilities
- Create and edit new items, edit customer information, and create new staff, discount management, transfer new inventory into the system using purchase orders, create and post statements, sales investigations, inventory control, METRC tag control, validate sales and posting to METRC and make knowledgeable corrections as needed to post properly to METRC
- Oversee staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage is always maintained
- Monitor and manage inventory control, sales, register transactions, discounts, and patient relations
- Serves as a role model and resource for staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news and changes in regulations
- Manage staff questions, concerns or suggestions and acts when necessary to resolve conflicts and administer disciplinary action when needed
- Continuing cannabis education and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge to improve knowledge and skills
- Identifies patient care needs by establishing personal rapport with patients to understand their care requests
- Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills; and answering questions.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and caregivers
- Builds and reinforces company image by collaborating with community and patients by enforcing ethical business practices
- Plan, provide and evaluate educational programs for staff and patients including new patient registrations
- Coordinate all staff members and new hires with applicable trainings to maintain compliance and patient confidentiality
- Design strategies and set goals for growth
- Maintain budget, oversee expenses, improve operations and financial performance
- Responsible for delegating tasks to all staff members
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills to evaluate the quality and care of patients, identify weaknesses and find corrective measures
- Coordinates with upper management to ensure accurate information is communicated to staff
- Continuing cannabis education and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge to improve practice knowledge and skills
- Maintain private and confidential, sensitive patient information, must always be HIPAA compliant
- Ability to immediately address any customer conflict or complaint, inspiring long-term patient relationships and company loyalty
- Oversee orders and deliveries to ensure accurate inventory and facility sales
- Open line of communication with marketing and social media team to create a high volume of followers and maintain accurate online information.
- Maintains knowledge of all computer and technology systems and software (e.g. registers, METRIC, NAV, POS, etc.). Ensures response to all system problems by contacting information technology support and seeking solutions
- Maintain accurate records of all dispensary activities including daily cash reconciliations, patient records, sales, deliveries and returns in accordance with the State of Maryland and standards set by Grow West MD, LLC
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned, including assisting team members as needed
- Other duties as needed
Job Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years working in the cannabis and dispensary industry perferred.
- B.S. Degree in business administration, communications, or related field
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed.
- Available during weekends.
- Working knowledge of cannabis laws and regulations.
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
- Excellent managerial skills.
- Through understanding of medical marijuana policy and law.
- Ability to make business decisions as necessary with oversight when needed.
