What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Warehouse Laborer position at Manufacturing Concepts?
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload materials from trucks and shipping containers using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
2. Inventory Management: Assist in sorting, organizing, and storing inventory in designated warehouse locations. Ensure accuracy in inventory counts and maintain proper documentation as required.
3. Material Handling: Move materials and products throughout the warehouse as directed, ensuring proper handling and storage to prevent damage or loss.
4. Order Picking and Packing: Fulfill orders by accurately picking items from inventory according to picking lists or packing slips. Pack orders securely for shipment, following established procedures to prevent damage during transit.
5. Quality Control: Inspect materials and products for defects or damage, reporting any issues to supervisors for resolution. Ensure that all products meet quality standards before they are shipped or stored.
6. General Maintenance: Keep warehouse areas clean and organized, including sweeping floors, emptying trash bins, and maintaining aisle clearances for safe movement of personnel and equipment.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Follow proper lifting techniques and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse team members and supervisors to achieve daily production goals and meet customer demands. Communicate effectively and contribute positively to team dynamics.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred but not required.
· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
· Basic math skills and attention to detail for inventory management and order fulfillment.
· Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
· Strong work ethic and reliability, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (6:00 am - 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm - 6:00 am) from Monday to Thursday, with potential for overtime as needed.
