Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage and motivate a team of production staff, including operators, technicians, and assemblers.
- Provide clear direction and support to team members, ensuring that production targets and quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Production Management:
- Oversee the daily production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to address any issues or deviations.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all sheet metal products meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections.
- Address and resolve any quality issues or non-conformities promptly.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the production team.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety training and drills to maintain a safe working environment.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including engineering, maintenance, and logistics, to ensure smooth production flow.
- Prepare and present shift reports, highlighting key performance indicators, production status, and any issues encountered.
- Collaborate with the first and third shift managers to ensure continuity and consistency across shifts.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in sheet metal manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successful team leadership and production management.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, and welding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work the second shift (typically 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and be flexible with overtime as needed.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
