Overview of role:
The Logistics Technician Senior Lead is a critical leadership position overseeing the company's logistics operations. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to manage logistics activities, streamline operations, and ensure adequate supply chain performance. The Senior Lead will play a key role in team development and will work closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement in logistics processes.

Key Deliverables:
- Lead the maintenance team in repairing, installing, and troubleshooting electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other facility systems to ensure seamless operations.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance, training, and technical expertise to foster skill development and high performance.
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, conveyor systems, automated machinery, and other critical infrastructure.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs, ensuring regular inspections and equipment servicing to minimize unexpected breakdowns and extend asset life.
- Maintain and update detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance to ensure proper documentation and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient maintenance execution, minimizing disruptions to facility operations.
- Lead and participate in facility projects, including system upgrades, renovations, and new equipment installations.
- Manage external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Monitor facility systems and equipment performance, identifying opportunities for process improvement or efficiency gains.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, taking proactive measures to avoid risks and hazards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, leading troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and prevent further operational disruptions.
- Create and manage the inventory of parts and materials required for ongoing maintenance and repairs, ensuring all items are readily available.
- Assist in developing and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance schedules for ongoing facility operations.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, ideally within a logistics, industrial, or warehouse environment.
- 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, including inventory control, distribution, and transportation.
- Experience using logistics management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams of technicians or maintenance staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and automated systems.
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS, work order systems).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and other relevant safety regulations in an industrial or logistics setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with diverse teams and departments.
- Physical ability to perform demanding maintenance tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces or at heights.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, Six Sigma).
- Experience with international logistics and regulations.
- Familiarity with Lean or Kaizen methodologies for process improvement.
Technology Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with logistics management software (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
- Basic knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning and RFID technology.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, which may include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and handling materials.
- Availability for occasional overtime and weekend work as needed.
