Overview of role:
Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and assisting with the repair of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems within the facility. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills and knowledge in a hands-on environment, providing support to senior technicians and helping ensure the optimal functionality of equipment and machinery. As the Maintenance Technician I, will assist with routine maintenance activities, respond to maintenance requests, and perform corrective tasks under the supervision of senior maintenance staff.

Key Deliverables:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical issues under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules to perform inspections and identify issues before they result in equipment failures.
- Respond to maintenance requests, performing repairs or reporting issues to senior technicians as required.
- Replace or repair parts, such as belts, filters, fuses, and lubricants, as needed.
- Support the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery, ensuring they meet operational standards.
- Document maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacement of parts, in the maintenance management system.
- Maintain and organize maintenance tools, equipment, and materials to ensure readiness for scheduled work.
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist senior technicians during emergency repairs and breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Participate in safety and training programs to improve skills and stay up to date on equipment and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of experience in a maintenance role or similar position (previous experience in a manufacturing or facilities maintenance environment is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding safety standards and the ability to follow safety procedures during maintenance tasks.
- Strong willingness to learn, develop new skills, and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Desired Qualifications:
- Technical certification or coursework in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance tasks and processes.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders and maintenance schedules.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
Technology Requirements:
- Basic computer skills to document maintenance activities, access work orders, and track parts and inventory.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software (CMMS) is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
- Ability to take directions from senior maintenance staff and work collaboratively as part of a team.
