Overview of Role:
The Warehouse Supervisor with Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient and safe storage and distribution of goods, and managing the mechanical maintenance of warehouse equipment and systems. This role combines traditional warehouse management with hands-on mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment and machinery operate at peak performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in warehouse operations, and mechanical expertise.

Key Deliverables:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including the receiving, storing, and shipping of goods.
- Lead, train, and manage warehouse staff to ensure high productivity, safety, and adherence to company policies.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and transportation of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, automated systems, and other mechanical machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth warehouse operations.
- Implement and oversee safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of equipment maintenance to prevent disruptions in warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, equipment repairs, and inspections.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels and timely restocking.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage techniques, and processes to improve space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., transportation, purchasing, customer service) to ensure the smooth flow of goods and timely order fulfillment.
- Prepare and analyze warehouse performance reports, including productivity, maintenance costs, and downtime.
- Ensure that mechanical maintenance costs stay within budget and identify opportunities for cost-effective improvements.
- Manage the procurement and storage of parts and supplies needed for mechanical repairs and maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field is a plus).
- 5 years of experience in warehouse operations with at least [Y] years in a supervisory role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience in warehouse operations, including inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory management software.
- Ability to operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, and automated machinery.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations for warehouse environments.
- The ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to generate reports and use inventory management systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certifications in mechanical maintenance, forklift operation, or related fields (e.g., OSHA certifications, PMMI certification).
- Experience with lean principles, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems used in warehouse machinery.
- Experience with vendor management and procurement of maintenance supplies and parts.
Technology Requirements:
