A manufacturing company in Toledo, Ohio is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing/Buyer to manage procurement of raw materials such as resins, additives, and packaging components to support supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials including resins, additives, and packaging supplies
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production schedules
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and on-time delivery
- Monitor material costs and market trends to optimize purchasing decisions
- Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing with production needs
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvements
- Generate and manage purchase orders and related documentation
- Resolve delays, shortages, and other supply issues efficiently
Qualifications:
- 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience sourcing raw materials such as resins or similar manufacturing inputs
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
