Summary of Internship:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
The Science Intern is an in-person, behind the scenes position. This position serves to support the day-to-day activities of the Science Technology & Engineering Department for providing all General Science curricula, lab materials, inventory, and support for our teachers across our schools serving grades K-10. Our curriculum comes in a variety of formats for student accessibility with the mastery of standards-based content that is in alignment with the revised Massachusetts STE standards. This entails hands-on learning opportunities that involve Science & Engineering Practices. The Science Intern will be supervised by the Science Technology & Engineering Curriculum Coordinator, who has dual teaching certifications in Moderate Special Needs and Biology. We are a Fieldwork Placement site for area schools that include Simmons, Emmanuel, and Mount Ida.

Responsibilities:
Ordering, stocking, packaging, dissemination of lab materials for grades K-10 to meet teacher requests and scheduling.
Modifying curriculum (with guidance). requiring proficiency in Word, Google Docs, and Excel.
Prioritize and plan curriculum demands with attention to detail and deadlines.
Communicate with supervisor and/or teaching staff in person or via email to support curriculum planning needs.
Qualifications
Education:
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program preferred. Great for Science, Education, or Psychology Majors.
Experience:
Prior work and volunteer experience is helpful.
