SUMMARY
Will assist the accounting team in ensuring the accurate processing and compliance of all aspects of the Association’s payroll.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process weekly and/or biweekly multi-state payroll utilizing in-house UKG software
- Process levies, liens and any other garnishments
- Process payroll reports
- Process union benefit invoices
- Process manual checks for employee deductions, unions plan, and payroll related disbursements
- Assist with payroll journal entries
- Perform payroll bank account reconciliation
- Prepare payroll-related general ledger account reconciliations
- Assist with year-end reconciliation and auditor requests
- Provide excellent customer service to employees
- Provide back-up support and train on other accounting and finance team functions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Responsibilities. However, the position will be responsible for the successful completion of the payroll process and reconciliation which will include monitoring the balancing and data entry processes.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Working knowledge of UKG software preferred
- Prior experience working with union payroll preferred
- Understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws
- Able to maintain confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Good time management skills
- Strong customer-service ethic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Accounting or finance degree OR at least 2 years of experience processing all aspects of a multi-state payroll
REASONING ABILTIY
Have an analytical problem-solving thought process to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to see recognize patterns in data and trace or reconstruct transactions. Ability to take independent actions using intuition and experience to complement data. Can adapt to changes in the work environment. Ability to look for ways to improve process and quality.
