Summary:
The Shipping and Warehouse Manager is responsible to plan, direct, and oversee the operations of the shipping and warehousing operations within the facility. The manager is responsible for hiring, leading, and developing employees within the department. This position is also responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance and safety of its people and other resources within the department as well as enforce a culture that emphasizes safety, quality, continuous improvement, employee retention and development, and high general performance.

- Planning, executing, and controlling the procurement, movement, material, and other resources to achieve customer satisfaction
- Enforce safety rules and regulations
- Responsible for the sanitation within the shipping department
- Oversee the operational functions of all elements associated with products, warehousing, and shipping
- Prepare, provide, and maintain departmental staffing and scheduling
- Establish, implement, and monitor departmental and employee productivity standards
- Develop efficient and accurate productivity metrics
- Monitor daily departmental operations including truck schedules to ensure accuracy
- Participate in the development of process improvements
- Monitor orders to ensure timely delivery
- Complete required documentation for inbound and outbound load/case/pallet tracking
- Maintain and process accident investigation reports within the department
- Regulate and resolve issues related to the shipping process and equipment (chains, palletizers, product location, employee assignments, trailer refrigeration, product availability, etc.)
- Plan and execute Special Projects related to shipping and warehouse as needed
- Coordinate and complete annual performance evaluations
- Participate in recruitment, training, and implementing, and development of plans for all personnel actions
- Provide direction to the employees in the department in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff including overseeing new employee onboarding
- Direct employees to take responsibility to perform their job tasks and assignment effectively
- Responsible for making decisions
- Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback
- Demonstrate teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed

- Inspect loading operations to make sure that employees comply with shipping and warehouse specifications.
- Schedule repairs of preventive maintenance of equipment

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge and experience in operation, supervision, and management
- Must have written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of Management
- Must possess good interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
- Management experience in a team-oriented workplace, preferred.
- Must possess ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows
- Knowledge of Excel and Word
- Knowledge of shipping and inventory procedures
- Excellent organizational management skills
- Available to work outside of normal schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
