What are the responsibilities and job description for the Knowledge and Innovation Attorney (Litigation) position at MAP SSG?
We have an opening for a Knowledge and Innovation Attorney ("KIA") to support 1-2 litigation practice groups (the "Assigned PGs").
This role will report into a Director of Knowledge and Innovation and sits within the Practice Innovation & Legal Solutions Department.
The KIA will support the Assigned PGs with their knowledge management and innovation needs. The KIA will serve as a legal knowledge, market, and practical resource to the practice group, primarily responsible for implementing and managing knowledge management and innovation projects and priorities for the Assigned PGs. This includes collecting, organizing, curating, and maintaining core practice content and "know how" (e.g. model and form documents, thought leadership materials, trainings, and substantive client presentations); capturing, maintaining, and optimizing experience data; sharing knowledge across the group; keeping attorneys abreast of current practice trends and developments; supporting substantive training initiatives; and identifying attorney practice pain points for improvement with technology.
In this capacity, the Knowledge and Innovation Attorney will :
Knowledge and Data Management
- Assess the Assigned PGs' knowledge needs, and define and implement a plan to meet those needs;
- Collect and maintain matter / experience data for the Assigned PGs' leveraging the firm's experience platform (Foundation) and custom matter intelligence dashboard;
- Draft, update and manage model documents, forms and templates, internal and client facing memoranda on practice legal issues, practice process checklists, training materials, and other required knowledge assets;
- Collect, curate, and contribute content to contributing articles, client presentations, client alerts, and other content that position the Firm as a thought leader;
- Promote and encourage use of the Firm's new Knowledge Management system within the Assigned PGs, and maintain and continuously update content within the system;
- Monitor and share with practitioners recent, relevant legal developments and current market practice developments and trends;
- Provide direct support to individual practitioners in the Assigned PGs to assist them with locating practice-related internal and external knowledge resources;
- Identify practice-related training needs and coordinate with the Assigned PGs' leadership and our Talent Development department to organize, design and deliver relevant training for associates;
- Provide regular training on knowledge resources and innovative technology solutions to the Assigned PGs' lawyers and other timekeepers;
- Coordinate with peers in other practice areas to exchange best practices in knowledge resources developed by each area;
- Potentially support additional practice groups as necessary; and
- Work beyond scheduled hours as necessary and travel as required.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $204,500 and a maximum of $300,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
