Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant position is a hybrid role and is located at our 33 Whitehall St office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze the financial statements of all of our domestic and foreign locations and compare the actual results against the plan
• Assist with the budget preparation and monthly budget variance analyses
• Supervise staff accountants providing guidance, training, and mentorship as well as reviewing their work
• Maintain accurate and timely during month end and year end close
• Provide adhoc reporting as necessary for Senior Management for strategic planning and decision making
• Maintain the general ledger structure including the Firm's Chart of Accounts, entity structure and all general ledger interfaces including all subsidiary ledgers
• Work with the Accounting Manager and the external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
• Scheduling required jobs to ensure that all necessary information is entered into the accounting system
• Coordinate with local offices that proper general ledger accounts are used and that entries are recorded timely
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile numerous general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules and ensure the correct calculation of the depreciation
• Identify and rectify the erroneous postings to general ledger accounts
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures : This includes ensuring that the company adheres to the modified cash method of accounting
• Manitain internal controls, including risk assessments and review of internal control policies to safeguard the company's assets and prevent fraud
• Assist with special projects and other related financial analysis
• Develop and implement appropriate accounting procedures and identify and present process improvements
• Protect confidentiality of accounting information
• Other responsibilities as they are assigned from time to time

Qualifications

The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $115,000 to $135,000
