SUMMARY:
MAPCO’s Fuel Supply Analyst, reporting to the Director of Fuel Supply, is responsible for assisting in managing the Company’s supply and movement of transportation fuels for our retail network. Utilizing data sets across platforms such as Telepoint, ProphetX and DTN Data, this role will be finding efficiencies in our network and identify savings opportunities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All decisions are taken with Safety, Quality, and the Guest at top of mind.
- Work with suppliers for daily, short term and ongoing contractual needs for both company operations and wholesale business.
- Work to manage and develop relationships both internally and externally with related parties
- Develop cadenced reporting packages and identify opportunities in our supply network
- Analyze product needs and work to fulfill those
- Analyze supplier proposals and make informed recommendations to management
- Monitor relevant markets and identify opportunities for MAPCO
- Proactively manage fuel supply situations while properly informing the organization
- Be an active participant in negotiations with suppliers and carriers.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve existing supply processes.
- Work to continuously improve supply flexibility by creating and leading a process to ensure every carrier has the ability to lift from the best economic supplier at all applicable terminals.
- This role will partner with MLE and suppliers to complete partner setup.
- Identify where and who to pull our refined products off of.
- Provide data and analytical support to management regarding daily price data, contract tracking Responsible for tracking daily buy plan execution
- Represent the fuel/logistics team to provide guidance on business process initiatives.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Some travel will be required.

- Ability to interpret trends and market variables.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commodities Management, Business preferred equivalent work
- 0-3 Years’ Experience working with fuel commodities, data analysis, logistics or supply chain
- Strong interpersonal, cross functional & communication skills.
- Very strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with transportation
