Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately in the patient management system.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and place orders as needed.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry is essential.
- Experience as a dental receptionist is a plus for managing patient interactions effectively.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is preferred.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately to monitor patient health during visits.
- Experience or interest in pediatrics, particularly in pediatric dentistry, is advantageous.
- Understanding of prosthodontics practices is beneficial for assisting with specific procedures.
- Certification in X-Ray technology is required for performing imaging tasks.
