Maple Knoll Village, a continuing care retirement community located in Springdale, OH, is seeking a full time Administrator to oversee its 96-bed Nursing facility. COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for employment. However, if applicable, medical and religious exemption submissions can be submitted and reviewed by the COVID committee prior to job offer.
The primary purpose of the Administrator position is to administer, direct and coordinate all activities of the nursing home to carry out its objective in providing outstanding resident care and services in accordance with established state and federal regulations and other accrediting agencies.
Qualified candidates will be licensed in the State of Ohio by the Ohio Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators, with at least five years’ experience in long term care, have excellent interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills, with a passion for serving older adults. Salary is based on prior experience.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide oversight and direction to ensure that each resident receives quality nursing, medical and psychological services to attain and maintain the highest possible mental and physical functional status.
- Responds appropriately to resident issues and concerns in a timely manner and makes a written/oral report to the president as necessary, indicating what actions were taken to resolve the issue/concern, as appropriate.
- Represents the facility in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third-party payers, or provides an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.
- Serves as liaison to the medical staff, and other professional and supervisory staff.
- Maintains an excellent working relationship with the medical profession and other health related facilities and organizations.
- Regularly schedules interdepartmental and departmental meetings to maintain liaison between staff, departments, and residents.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized agencies.
- Reviews and helps develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during surveys.
- Develops and maintains written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility.
- Reviews the facility’s policies and procedures periodically, at least annually, and makes changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with current regulations (e.g., ADA, ergonomics, air quality, etc.).
- Ensures that public information (marketing materials, resident handbooks, policy manuals, etc.) describing the services provided in the facility is accurate and fully descriptive.
- Makes rounding inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
- Prepares budget; reviews and revises as needed. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
