What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor position at Maple Leaf Farms Inc?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.
Plan, implement and monitor completion and quality of maintenance functions in Live Production and Facilities areas in conjunction with department managers with focus on customer satisfaction.
2.
Become familiar with and maintain a functional maintenance data base and work order system (MPulse or Other Internal Program)
3.
Assist Facilities and Environmental Manager in planning and coordinating projects in the Live Production and GA areas.
4.
Adhere to budgetary constraints, assist in the selection of vendors and suppliers, isolate cost records for various area work performed.
5.
Assist as required in maintenance of existing facilities and grounds.
6.
Oversee repairs and minor alterations to buildings.
7.
Daily job planning and scheduling for Live Production Facilities group.
8.
Increase the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Live Production Facilities maintenance group.
9.
Develop and oversee the Live Production preventative maintenance program.
10.
Establish inventories of current equipment, parts for current equipment, and levels needed.
11.
Perform related duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Requires knowledge of construction project management methods, principles of supervision, engineering design principles and practices, construction practices, contract administration procedures and budgeting
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to perform effective cost analysis and ensure timely implementation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and ability to interact with all levels of specialists within or outside the company.
Skilled in the use of tact and diplomacy when confronting issues internally as well as outside the company.
Ability to plan, schedule and budget multiple projects; keep track of activities and financial progress and take corrective actions when needed.
Working knowledge of computer software including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to apply current technologies, understand and interpret State and Federal regulations, Live Production Duck Well-Being Guidelines, Bio-Security Guidelines, MLF Breeder Manual, MLF Grower Manual, Safety procedures, OSHA guidelines.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosis.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitudes.
Working knowledge of basic mathematics.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead groups of employees and processes. Ability to understand and apply employment guidelines, ensuring compliance with employee handbook, and state and federal guidelines.
Ability to read blueprints.
Knowledge and skills identified are typically acquired through the completion of a college education specializing in Mechanical, Agricultural or Construction Engineering, or progressive equivalent construction experience.
WORKING CLIMATE:
Position may entail standing, lifting, moving, and climbing. Work in an office and field environment; position is exposed to various environmental exposures, including extreme cold and heat.
