Maple Leaf Healthcare Center is looking for a self-directing, outgoing, clinically experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a desire to develop and implement infection control programs to prevent and identify the spread of infectious agents in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities of an Infection Control Nurse:
- Conduct audits on infection prevention practices and provides education to staff members as well as comply with mandates for state and federal public reporting.
- Assess and treat residents with complex wounds, ostomies, or continence conditions.
- Work closely with doctors and patients to create an effective care plan and ensure that treatment plans are followed carefully.
Qualifications for an Infection Control Nurse:
- Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Valid CPR certification
- Two (2) years of professional nursing experience in a long-term care environment
- One (1) year of education or management experience with direct care staff
