Job Summary:
Under the supervision and direction of a licensed nurse, the medication assistant administrators and records select medications to residents. Trained to measure and record blood pressure, radial pulse and blood glucose readings by way of a finger stick. Is also trained to perform and clean wound treatments.
Qualifications:
- Must have successfully completed the State of Wisconsin Medication Assistant Training Program or has successfully completed an approved college level pharmacology course and training in the area of medication administration
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in Wisconsin; in good standings
- Must adhere to all safety security, infection control (including Universal Precautions) and hazardous materials policies and procedures, and perform all tasks to assure resident and personal safety and the protection of Maple Ridge policy
- Must be able to physically waist lift a maximum of 30# with frequent waist lifting of objects weighting up to 10#. Must be able to push and or pull objects with a maximum effort of 25#
- Must be able to stand or walk 4-6 hours in an 8-12 hour work day
- Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and twist body during n 8-12 hour day
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
