Job Description
Maple Small Animal Clinic in New Orleans, is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate KENNEL ASSISTANT to join our veterinary team.
About the Role: You will be responsible for animal care and clinic housekeeping. Getting cages/kennels setup and bringing patients safely into the clinic. Supervising patient activities while in the kennels and documenting care throughout their stay. Walking dogs throughout the day. Bathing and drying dogs. Cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs and kennel throughout the day. Housekeeping duties as assigned, assist in maintaining clean laundry supply throughout the day, and perform other duties as assigned that assist the Doctors, Technicians and Receptionists in the smooth flow and operation of the clinic. Full time position available.
About You: We are looking for a team player with prior animal care experience who has a positive attitude, pays attention to details, and has excellent communication skills. You must be able to lift thirty (35) pounds alone and more with assistance, and be able to work with and around both dogs and cats. Candidate must have graduated from high school and have one year of past work experience in a similar role. We are looking for someone with a solid foundation of basic skills and a great attitude.
