Maple Systems is looking for an Operations Specialist who will help tackle various challenges throughout the company by streamlining daily operations to ensure efficiency and work to improve Operational Technology (OT) systems. The ideal candidate is self-driven, able to quickly learn and adapt on their own with little guidance. This role requires a strong sense of big-picture objectives and should be extremely detail oriented, and work well with others.

Maple Systems is an industrial automation manufacturing company with one location, and approximately 50 employees. This role would interact with every department at one time or another from our Website / Marketing Team, IT Department, Sales Team, Technical Support / Engineering Team, Accounting, Production / Manufacturing, Purchasing, System Administration, and Facilities team to help solve problems, facilitate projects, or implement solutions to underlying challenges.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recommend new procedures for increasing the efficiency of day-to-day operations after gaining a working knowledge of our processes / software systems already in place.
  • Improve Operational Technology (OT) Systems such as our ERP / CRM System (NetSuite) by configuring workflows, creating reports, or programming scripts to automate processes
  • Facilitate integrations or automations with 3rd-party software platforms to link the part numbers and inventory we sell to other E-Commerce websites
  • Maintain and improve Document Control Repository Platform (M-Files)
  • Help organize Internal Training platforms (Microsoft Sharepoint and others) and on occasion, work with different departments to create training content
  • Scope out facility improvements and Coordinate with outside vendors as needed for any interior remodeling
  • Assisting IT Department with Various system improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to triage problems

  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with Scripting / Programming in order to facilitate project needs and automate processes
  • Various Languages used in solutions recently – SuiteScripts, VBA, Powershell, Google Macros, HTML. Familiarity with these languages not required but ability to pick up coding by leveraging ChatGPT or other scripting programming tools required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiar with database structures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Supervisory Responsibility :

    This position does not supervise others.

    Education / Experience :

    College Degree strongly preferred and 3 to 5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Ability :

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

    Reasoning Ability :

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Work Environment :

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    This position is in a standard office environment with desktop business equipment and frequent telephone calls. Noise level is moderate.

    Compensation : 85,000 - $105,000

    Hours / Location :

    This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 7am-3 : 30pm

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Employee must be able to work in close contact with small and large groups. Frequent hearing and talking is required. The employee must constantly reach with hands and fingers. Extensive keyboard typing is required.

    Requirements :

    Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
