Job Description
This position will lead production engineering activities, documentation, and team priorities by coordinating with the Director of Engineering and Engineers to create and maintain production processes, product documentation and our part number database, this will includes, but is not limited to, Creating new part number, Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Routers, Inspection Procedures, Assembly Procedures, Test Procedures, Specifications, Drawings and more. The ideal candidate we are looking for to join our team will have an extensive background in electronic or electro-mechanical manufacturing and will help implement manufacturing improvements by coordinating with the Director of Engineering, Production Supervisor and other production employees to improve quality, streamline processes, and minimize overhead labor. This person should have a strong attention to detail, a passion for optimizing processes, be deadline driven, and be able to effectively communicate with many different job-disciplines throughout the company.

This position will interact with other departments frequently and work closely with the production engineers to effectively achieve company goals by helping introduce new products to our customers in a timely fashion, minimize quality issues, support our sales & technical customer service team when needed, and help Report on Quality and Manufacturing KPIs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Outline project requirements, documentation, and deadlines for manufacturing activities and new product introduction activities.
- Prioritize tasks for production engineers based on level importance to the company weighing time, costs, and benefits to the company.
- Be a technical resource and process-knowledgeable person who other engineers and production employees can go to help them with challenges.
- Review, update, and author quality documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other technical procedures.
- Responsible for the completion and, or implementation of required documentation including, but not limited to, Corrective Action Reports (CAR), Request for Engineering Action (REA), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Product Certifications.
- Responsible for the review, approval, and rejection of non-compliant material (MRB) and coordinating with Vendors to get replacement parts as needed.
- Responsible for the review, approval, and rejection of manufacturing/production documentation.
- Help Maintain our Document Control Software (M-Files) as needed.
- Responsible for the creation, review and approval of part numbers in ERP System (NetSuite) for production related fields.
- Act as a backup for production engineers when needed.
- Coordinate with other departments to track project schedules and keep everyone informed of progress.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Electronics or electro-mechanical engineering experience and knowledge.
- Senior Engineering Experience or Project Management experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks for staff.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Excel and Word; Technical writing skills.
- Ability to work hours necessary to support all manufacturing activities.
- High attention to detail, quality control, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to learn and remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Self-disciplined and professional demeanor.
- 2D/3D CAD Experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of industrial control systems, HMI's, PLC's, Industrial PC's is strongly desired.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Corel Draw.
- Prior leadership training, mentoring, or coaching training.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (ideally in electrical or mechanical engineering) with 5 years of experience and training in electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises production engineering activities and priorities but does not have direct reports.
Education/Experience:
At least 5 years of experience with technical software/hardware products.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
