Job Overview
The Exercise Oncology Instructor is responsible for implementing individualized, supervised exercise programs for those who are undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis. The Exercise Oncology Instructor assists the Exercise Oncology Educator in supporting adherence to established protocols, policies, guidelines, and structure for the delivery of fitness programming to cancer patients. This job is an entry-level position.
Responsibilities
- Ensures safe and effective exercise training by creating, implementing, modifying, and evaluating 12-week program phases
- Creates individualized exercise programs for their assigned patients, allowing their patients to safely see marked improvements on a consistent basis
- Ensures proper fitness testing procedures are performed
- Ensures proper data collection and recording
- Ensures personal schedule management
- Maintains upkeep of facility by following site checklists
- Secures patient information by ensuring all patient data is reviewed at location of operation, ensuring confidentiality by not sharing information with anyone other than authorized personnel at Maple Tree Cancer Alliance
- Communicates schedule openings and cancellations with Exercise Oncology Coordination
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
- At least one year of experience in fitness or healthcare related field
- Will be required to complete Exercise Oncology Instructor certification
- Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly growing organization and manage multiple complex priorities
