The BSA Analyst is a critical member of MapleMark’s Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering, CFT, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and related Compliance functions. This position reports to the BSA Officer and supports the effective implementation of the Bank’s AML / CFT Program. The position requires a basic understanding of BSA rules and practices. It also requires willingness to perform deep-dive analytical work that must be documented via heavy data entry in a timely fashion.
Essential Job Functions
- Possesses a basic understanding of banking regulations with particular emphasis on Bank Secrecy Act, AML-CFT, OFAC, USA Patriot Act and related regulations;
- Performs detailed reviews of transaction alerts and documents research in the AML monitoring system and related file directory;
- Works with business units to investigate suspicious transactions;
- Review CTR’s for accuracy prior to submission;
- Researches and verifies OFAC matches in response to business unit inquiries;
- Performs Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence reviews of prospective and existing clients as delegated by BSA Officer; prepares detailed reports of related investigation to ensure proper risk grading. This may include detailed review of a variety of onboarding and identifying documentation, online searches, dialogue with banking officers and other activities as directed by the BSA Officer. Prepares required reports and summaries of completed reviews.
- Assists business units in performing client risk assessments;
- Ensures consistency of standards, appropriate level of rigor and timeliness of ongoing monitoring activities;
- Identifies and professionally escalates matters requiring management attention;
- Contributes documentary evidence to suspicious activity cases for review by the BSA Officer;
- Maintain highest standards of professional written and verbal communication;
- Assists in compilation of necessary information, work papers and other documents for audits and examinations;
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the BSA Officer.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
