POSITION: District Assessment Coordinator

LOCATION: Administration Building

PAY RANGE: Admin Coordinator Salary Schedule, $100,000 - $135,000 Annual Salary

CALENDAR: 228 Days

FSLA STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Accountability and Assessment

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The District Assessment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, training, execution, and analysis of all district-wide assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. This role involves coordinating testing schedules, training school-level staff, managing secure test materials, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of student performance data. The coordinator collaborates with district and school administrators to support data-driven decision-making and instructional improvement while also communicating assessment policies and results to stakeholders in a clear and effective manner. In addition to assessment coordination, this role plays a critical part in the district's data infrastructure by leading assessment data collection, cleaning, validation, and reporting. The coordinator ensures that data is accurate, actionable, and accessible to support district-wide decision-making and instructional improvement. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of educational assessments are essential for success in this position.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree with emphasis and/or experience in measurement, assessment, educational psychology, or equivalent is required. A master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Three years' experience in data management, school assessment, or related field. Previous experience with K-12 public education is highly desired.
  • This position will require advanced technical computer skills, keyboarding, and word processing skills.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Manage state-required assessments: Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS and CoAlt), University of Kansas (DLM), WIDA ACCESS testing, PSAT, SAT; and other district assessments such as Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) and interim assessments. 
  • Manage and coordinate assessment database systems, including but not limited to eduCLIMBER, Infinite Campus, and vendor platforms such as WIDA DRC, Pearson Access Next, KITE Educator Portal, SDMS, and TS Gold for Kindergarten, and NWEA. 
  • Train and support School Assessment Coordinators, principals, and teacher groups under the direction of the Executive Director of Accountability and Assessment 
  • Coordinate and manage data submissions: Student Sount, Report Card collection, Safety & Discipline Indicator collection, Student End of Year data collection, Teacher Student Data Link (TSDL), Kindergarten School readiness, READ Spring Assessment, READ Literacy Program and Assessments, Civil Rights Data Collections and all Student Biographical Data (SBD) collections. Additional report submissions through the Data Pipeline may be added to the role. 
  • Ensure secure and ethical testing protocols and procedures are implemented. Provide guidance around testing procedures and ethical test preparation practices. 
  • Manage the distribution of testing materials in accordance with the Colorado Department of Education security protocol requirements. 
  • Liaison between the Colorado Department of Education and schools regarding technical assessment issues 
  • Act as a liaison with state-approved computer-based testing companies (Pearson, DRC, DLM) and district schools. 
  • Distribute, collect, process, and report test results from the Colorado Department of Education, WIDA, and College Board for the district multiple times yearly. 
  • Attend regular meetings and training sessions provided by the Colorado Department of Education. 
  • Serve as primary technical assistance liaison for problem-solving online assessment systems. 
  • Assist with the management of the department budget. 
  • Publish an annual district-wide testing calendar for all assessments from preschool to 12th, including gifted and talented (CoGat), English language learner (Access), and READ Act (DIBELS, Lectura, and CELS). 
  • Report student data in compliance with the US Department of Education and the Offices of Civil Rights. 
  • Develop and facilitate training on the use of assessment results for district staff. 
  • Provide advisement, guidance, and monitoring for the appropriate use of accommodations. 
  • Support schools and departments with data collection and management to ensure accurate collection and reporting of data. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of District Policy and state law. 

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS & DIRECTION/GUIDANCE: 

This job has supervisory responsibilities, however; it will coordinate and train school assessment coordinators and others when appropriate.
