The VP is part of the senior management team and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other senior executive staff to develop, implement and oversee the organization’s performance monitoring and compliance activities.QualityGather and facilitate analysis of data trends to inform performance improvement efforts.Collaborate with all stake holders to ensure outcome measures and reporting needs are identified and metProvide analytic support for departments across the organizationManage incident reporting and the risk management dashboardsCollaborate with the VP of Information Technology and Security for optimization of Agency information systems to support and improve processes, including the Electronic Health Record (EHR)Lead monthly Performance and Quality Improvement meetings to review quality assurance and compliance activities.Facilitate the ongoing certification and reporting process to maintain national accreditation and any other agency wide certifications.Partner with the leadership team to develop a training plan that includes monitoring of training requirements.ComplianceBuild upon existing compliance processes to ensure a robust Compliance Plan to help the organization prevent and / or detect violation of law, regulations, policies, or the Code of Conduct.Regularly review the Compliance Plan and recommend appropriate revisions and modifications, including holding quarterly compliance team meetings and advising Executive Management and the Board of potential risk areas.Oversee Ethics Point, our retaliation-free reporting channel, which includes an anonymous telephone reporting system available to all employees, volunteers, and affiliated providers.Ensure that the internal controls are capable of preventing and detecting significant instances or patterns of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct by employees, agents, affiliated providers, or others working with the organization.Present periodic and annual reports on the Compliance Program to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.Oversee, coordinate, and monitor the day-to-day compliance activities and the adherence to national accreditation requirementsDevelop and coordinate appropriate compliance training and education programs for all employees.Manage system that enables employees to report any noncompliance without fear of retribution, ensuring that the reporting system is adequately publicized and ensure that allegations of noncompliance are investigated and responded to promptly.Carry out all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO or boardServe as the HIPAA compliance officer, ensuring all requirements are met and training is regularly providedOversee records management and proper release of records upon request in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations.Performing other duties as assignedLegalManage all legal matters with outside legal counselReview contracts and other legal documents prior to finalizationProvide legal advice to the executive team and other departmentsEnsure compliance with laws and regulations, such as employment contracts and articles of incorporationFacilitate policy and procedure development to ensure current and comprehensive documentation reflecting all current practices and lawsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESManages and supervises employees involved with quality, compliance, analytics, records management, including two Directors and the teams reporting to themResponsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these teams.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Minimum Requirements : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Juris Doctorate degree.Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York StateRequires a minimum of five years progressive non-profit human services management experience with more than five years experience with legal matters in non-profit or government agencies.Deep knowledge of non-profit operational and quality assurance practices for human services organizations.Travel Requirements : This role is hybrid remote and can be located in either Wading River or Brooklyn offices.
