Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
Qualifications:
Nursing Degree from an accredited institution.
Active, unrestricted RN license in the state.
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, long-term care regulations, and infection control standards.
Current CPR certification.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing daily nursing operations, staffing, and care delivery in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, participate in hiring and disciplinary actions, and ensure proper training and competencies.
Monitor staff practices, implement policies and procedures, and promote quality care and resident satisfaction.
Participate in care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and resident rounds to ensure appropriate clinical oversight.
Lead or support quality improvement initiatives (QAPI), infection control programs, and survey readiness efforts.
Assist with scheduling to meet resident needs and manage staffing resources effectively.
Serve as acting DON in their absence and respond to resident/family concerns, incidents, or regulatory issues as needed.
Additional Duties:
Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and compliance with residents’ rights and facility policies.
Maintain resident confidentiality and report safety concerns, abuse, or regulatory violations promptly.
Ensure emergency preparedness and participate in drills and safety protocols.
Provide direct care when necessary and support safe work practices throughout the facility.
