MAPS Staffing is seeking dedicated and experienced Special Education Teachers to join our team for the 2025 / 2026 school year. We have exciting opportunities across the Chicagoland area of Illinois, serving various school districts at the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. Classroom assignments and caseloads will align with your expertise and will be discussed in detail during the application process.

Compensation :

  • Hourly : $47–$55
  • Weekly : $1,762.50-$2,200
  • Annual : $70,000–$85,000

    Position Requirements :

    To qualify, you’ll need :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
  • A valid Illinois teaching certificate LBS2,or able to obtain
  • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License(PEL), or able to obtain
  • Knowledge of core academic subjects, curriculum planning, and behavior management
  • Preferred : At least one year of experience working with students with disabilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to manage classroom needs, including occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Assess & identify students needing speech and language support
  • Provide individual & group therapy using curriculum-based materials
  • Develop & implement IEP goals to foster student success
  • Create an engaging learning environment to promote communication and growth
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists & supervise support staff
  • Utilize alternative communication systems when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal education regulations

    • Job Details :

  • Contract Position : Remainder of the 2025 / 2026 school year
  • Schedule : 37.5–40 hours per week, aligned with the academic district calendar
  • Caseload : Details vary by school and will be provided upon application
