Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fire Protection Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and compliance of fire protection systems across various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety, system design knowledge, and new and existing construction inspection, along with experience in the installation and testing process for fire alarm, and sprinkler systems. Candidate must have hands on industry experience working with at least one or more of the following: rechargeable fire extinguishers, reading fire alarm codes, testing sprinkler systems, including sprinkler heads and risers, and performing hood suppression system testing and repairs. You will be responsible for assessing fire protection needs, testing systems, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations at all times.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing and reporting of fire systems for various facilities.
- Perform inspections to ensure compliance with local fire codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to provide expert advice on fire safety measures and system capabilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all testing and inspections performed.
- Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices related to fire protection.
Requirements
- Willingness to travel within a 20 mile radius of the Coachella Valley.
- CA Real ID for access of military bases and government buildings. Valid Drivers License as well as a clean driving record with no reported accidents, fines or misdemeanors.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug testing.
- Proven experience in fire protection system testing and maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting techniques and standards.
- Experience in alarm system testing and reading.
- Relevant certifications in fire protection or safety are a must.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, crouch, walk, or squat for a majority of the shift. As well as the ability to lift 40 lbs.
