Litigation Attorney

What you’ll be doing:
· Personally handle a file load of personal injury and medical malpractice cases
· Extensive client interaction including intake and subsequent communications
· Prepare demands and negotiate successful resolutions on behalf of clients
· Attend and advocate for clients at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial
· Independently research, interpret and apply legal principles in the context of motion practice and litigation
· Attend and participate in weekly team meetings relating to the evaluation and advancement of injury and malpractice cases
· Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, junior attorneys, and paralegals in litigating complex medical negligence and serious injury cases
· Active involvement in all phases of client representation from intake, initial office conferences, case development, demand, negotiation, and resolution
Qualifications:
· Five or more years of experience
· Client focused experience – personally demonstrate that both external and internal clients are a high priority by identifying, and responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner
· Experience in Personal Injury Litigation
· Experience in Complex Litigation
· Experience in Medical Malpractice Litigation
· Ability to work in fast-paced environment
· Strong academic credentials
· Advanced analytical skills
· Strong time management skills
· Strong writing and oral communication skills
· Strong legal research and writing skills
· Fully licensed to practice law in Rhode Island. Licensing in Massachusetts, and/or Connecticut is a plus
