CNC/Machine Programmer
Job Summary
Programmer assists in determining the operations required for fabrication and assembly of products as well as implementing cost- savings process improvements. Troubleshoots and resolves issues, estimating time requirements for operations, and preparing operation sheets. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in the sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters in order to increase efficiency and cost savings. Programs CNC equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Works directly with Value Stream Leaders to troubleshoot and resolve runnability constraints and bottlenecks, create set up improvements.
- Provides feedback and input on corrective action processes for Quality failure resolution.
- Participates at initiation phase of new product lines to assist in designing cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building tools using ergonomic principles.
- Develops and designs workplace layouts to reduce job safety risk and inefficient operations.
- Measures variances to standards, identifies out-of-control variances, investigates causes, and suggests solutions.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure BU performance is within budgeted performance parameters: AOP, absorption and other KPIs.
- Develops methods for measuring work performance against standards.
Qualifications
- Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience, 3 years. (Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred)
- Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma preferred.
- Commitment to company values and working with a sense of urgency in areas including Safety, Productivity and Customer Success.
- Experience in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment with complex machinery, product mix and materials supply chain.
- Experience programming CNC lathes and mills with G-code and CAM software (FeatureCAM preferred) required. Mazatrol experience helpful.
