The Sourced Product business is responsible for providing finished goods that are not manufactured in one of the North American plants. This includes product sourced with external suppliers or product manufactured in Asia. The team is also responsible for managing the Service Part offering and fulfillment for both motors and generators. We are looking for a Category Manger to join our team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
As a Modification Technician I, you will be responsible for servicing the daily material handling needs of the Modification Center for completing the daily production of motor and generator modifications. This position requires very strong mechanical aptitude along with a quality control-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and is an effective communicator. You must have problem-solving skills and the ability to comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for picking components and moving material associated with modifications.
- Responsible for stocking and staging product.
- Responsible for packaging orders for shipment.
- Responsible for Nameplate, Quality check modifications.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and following departmental 5S guidelines.
- Responsible for identifying defects and reporting errors in a timely fashion.
- Utilize available software and other technical systems that impact job performance.
- Backfill other team members as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong technical aptitude, knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems a plus.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical repair (wire connections, bearing installation, etc.) required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify problems and communicate the issues effectively.
- Strong computer skills (ERP system Oracle, MS Office)
- Ability to utilize common pneumatic and electric tools required, welding experience a plus.
- Must be able to understand and follow detailed instructions, skillfully identify and prioritize problems and elevate them to supervision.
- Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
- Ability to continually lift or pull with a force up to 50 pounds.
- Results-oriented, process improvement focused
Language: English (Spanish/English) a plus
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This position is done in a Warehouse environment typically indoors but may require access to outdoors for work at times. This position requires the ability to drive a forklift: Reach Truck, Order Picker and/or Turret Truck. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use fingers and hands, handle or feel controls or product; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product. Frequently lifting/moving up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. is required. This position also requires a person to handle different temperatures as the Warehouse is hot in the summer and cooler in the winter.
