Marathon Engineering is looking for experienced, full-time Civil Project Managers / Design Engineers to join our Rochester and Ithaca teams. This is a client-focused role; your responsibilities will include understanding the vision of the client and turning it into a working design, encompassing every aspect of drafting, development, and entitlement coordination through the end of Construction Administration, acting as a project expediter each step of the way. Attention to detail and consistency are of the utmost importance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, seamlessly coordinating with consultants, municipalities, and regulatory agencies throughout the planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Provide detailed project management, including maintenance of project checklists and delegation to maintain project schedule and facilitate timey project close-out.
  • Complete and submit permit applications, ensure project compliance from design through construction.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and municipal officials, resolving issues, and preparing design modifications as needed.
  • Produce conceptual, preliminary, and final construction design drawings and deliver engaging, informative presentations.
  • Develop, execute, and revise project work plans to meet changing needs and enforce project standards.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Balancing planning efforts with day-to-day demands, identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years in civil engineering, including stormwater design, and proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil3D) software.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and collaboratively deliver completed projects within a dynamic team environment in an open plan office setting.
  • Previous experience working with private development projects and obtaining approvals from municipalities, state, and federal entities.
  • Substantial experience as a Civil Project Manager with emphasis on site development and design, including grading, utilities, pavement, circulation, stormwater management, and ADA requirements.
  • Displays industry knowledge and adapts to changing standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and teamwork skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to facilitate effecting decision-making, problem-solving, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
