Overview:
The Construction and Maintenance Equipment Operator Technician position will be located at the Lebanon Junction, KY facility. This position works in and around petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing various construction and maintenance activities. 75% travel, call-outs, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis. Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL) operates more than 10,000 miles of underground pipeline in 26 states.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment to excavate pipelines.
- Read and analyze blueprints.
- Assist in spotting lines during excavation, uncovering lines and conduits.
- Thorough knowledge of equipment to perform general maintenance.
- Provide support for damage prevention and right of way relations.
- Perform emergency break and leak activities.
- Complete all required training.
- Perform work in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record and must be able to obtain a CDL within 12 months. Current Class A CDL preferred. Proficiency in basic computer skills is required. Previous pipeline excavating experience preferred.
