This multifaceted position entails regular collaboration with Petrochemical traders, schedulers, and various internal stakeholders including Refining, Refining Value Chain Optimization (RVCO), Business Development, Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A), Economics group, among others. In addition to recurring duties, the incumbent will actively engage in leading and contributing to both internal initiatives and cross-functional projects. Moreover, they will drive the advancement of Petrochemical information technology projects. Key Responsibilities
- Compile insightful monthly market commentary incorporating critical pricing, contract, market performance data, economic indicators, and sales/purchase volumes.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis utilizing diverse reports and models to bolster Petrochemical team efforts, monitor organizational performance, pinpoint optimization and market opportunities, and assess competitive positioning through internal metric tracking. Deliver detailed value-added reports and presentations communicating results to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide crucial support in development of the company’s long-term Petrochemical growth strategy. Coordinate closely with key stakeholders including Business Development, Refining, and RVCO to inform management options in a rapidly growing segment of our business.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret data sets for development of various Petrochemical financial and pricing forecasts including the Business Plan, Economic Long-Term Outlook (ELTO), Short Term Pricing Outlook (STOP), Refining Long Term Pricing Forecast (LTPF), Petrochemical budget and monthly forecasts. Offer detailed explanations of forecast variances and trends as needed.
- Execute recurring runs of the Propylene DPO Model (Aspen PSPC) and communicate optimized results to the Propylene commercial team for actionable implementation.
- Conceptualize, propose, and implement enhancements to streamline report generation processes and elevate the overall efficacy of reports. Leverage various analytics tools and resources such as SQL queries and Tableau/PowerBI to accomplish complex tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operational processes and bridge organizational gaps.
- Provide critical support to management and various departmental initiatives through in-depth data analysis in time-sensitive scenarios.
- Provide backfill support for Petrochemical Traders, Schedulers, and GBR Petrochemical Coordinator as applicable.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues and reporting gaps to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Marine or related discipline required
- Five (5) or more years of experience in Commercial, Risk, Trading Analytics, Marine, Scheduling, or Marketing required
