Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our Marine Repair Facility (MRF) team in Mt. Vernon, IN.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and experience with diesel engine overhaul, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on shipboard systems, including diesel engines, marine reduction gears, pumps, HVAC and refrigeration systems, hydraulic steering systems, and mechanical air movers.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues on vessels.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Up to 30% travel may be required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment written test, hands-on test, drug test, and background check.
- DOT physical required.
- Vocational/technical school training is preferred.
- 5 years' experience in diesel mechanics and/or boat maintenance is preferred.
Salary Information:
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience.
