Job Description
The Harbor Pilot plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of barges within the Catlettsburg, KY Harbor. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing tow configurations, drop-offs, pick-ups, and tasks assigned to crew members.
- Supervising Deckhands and Mates to ensure seamless operations.
- Exercising direct control over boats, barges, and crew members.
- Utilizing radar to navigate vessels safely.
- Coordinating signaling devices, such as whistles, flashlights, flags, and radios, to communicate with nearby vessels.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license necessary.
