Overview: We are seeking a skilled Petroleum Terminal Operations Specialist to join our Fernley, NV terminal team. This position works with and around petroleum products and is responsible for all operating aspects of a petroleum products terminal. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing life's possibilities by blending, distributing and delivering quality products in a safe, reliable and competitive manner.
About the Job
This is a critical position that may be assigned to a home location, but may also require coverage at other locations in the area as needed to meet business needs. The position may involve working on a 4- or 5-day workweek or shift work on an as-needed basis. Call-outs and overtime may be required, which could include after-hours and weekend shifts. The selected candidate will undergo continuous training to develop job-related skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain truck loading racks and other facility equipment;
- Sample and test petroleum products in the laboratory;
- Gauge storage tanks;
- Assist with the shipment and receipt of petroleum products via pipeline and/or barge/ship;
- Perform stair climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance;
- Work outdoors frequently;
- Prepare terminal reports;
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Ability to learn basic computer skills;
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and document accurate records;
- Ability to learn mechanical and electrical systems;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree or vocational technical training;
- Previous experience in process operations, maintenance crafts and/or the petroleum industry;
