Job Description:
We are seeking a Transport Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our transport fleet equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform daily preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet of transports and trailers, including routine maintenance activities such as oil changes, air filter changes, power steering service, suspension system service, and electrical system service.
- Inspect and Maintain Trailers: Properly inspect and maintain trailers in compliance with all DOT requirements, keeping all assigned vehicle maintenance files current, including all DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on transport vehicles.
- Tire Changes and Emergency Maintenance: Perform tire changes and coordinate emergency maintenance, breakdown repairs on fleet vehicles, while also maintaining truck shop area, ordering parts, material, oils, lubricants, and shop supplies.
Requirements:
- Petroleum Industry Experience: Previous petroleum industry experience is strongly desired.
- OSHA Certification: Must have or become trained in OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Standard and be able to perform spill response duties, if required.
- Certifications and Licenses: Must have or must acquire within 12 months of employment a Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat, Tanker, Double/Triple, and LCV endorsements with a clean driving record, and mechanic certification/completion of a 2-year program at an accredited technical school, vocational school, or community college with coursework in truck mechanics.
