Under general supervision, performs ongoing program eligibility and annual recertification duties for low and very low-income individuals and families for a federally funded social service program. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Depending on area of assignment, this may include case management, information gathering, referral services, eligibility screening, rent negotiation, transfers, termination of assistance, and meeting online reporting requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Analyzes, calculates, and verifies program participants' income, assets, and expenses; determines eligibility for continuous assistance.Maintains complete case files on each case.Maintains current information on the availability of services in the community.Provides referral information about other social service providers and emergency services.Attends meetings, conferences and workshops.Performs other related duties as assigned.Community Action Program : Interviews multiple program clients daily to identify crisis needs and eligibility for various programs;makes referrals to appropriate agencies within 48 hours.Provides case management services by following-up on cases to ensure services are being received and to monitor client progress.Assists clients with understanding and completing various forms and applications.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / SUCCESS FACTORS : One year of college coursework in social service programs, or a related field and one year of current experience working with federally funded housing programs, low-income tax credit housing programs, or social service program, related to area of assignment.
