The Marblehead High School JV Boys Tennis coach is responsible for leading and motivating a team of high school players to practice regularly, compete in tennis matches, and attend fundraising activities. The coach is expected to teach players various tennis skills and strategies. In addition, the coach will promote teamwork, sportsmanship and respect, commitment, integrity, and responsibility. Below are the essential qualifications, requirements, and responsibilities of a JV BoysCoach: QUALIFICATIONKnowledge of Tennis techniques, strategy, and skills.Excellent communication and people skills.Ability to mentor and motivate athletes, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them achieve their goalsOrganizational and management skills, including the ability to schedule and plan practices and events.Familiarity with tennis rules and safety guidelines.REQUIREMENTSExperience playing and or coaching tennisLeads by example regarding the promotion of sportsmanshipMust complete all Massachusetts coaching requirements, which includes the NFHS Concussion CertificateMust complete Marblehead School District requirements: Fingerprinting, CORI Background checkMust complete CPR/AED and First Aid CertificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sitBe exposed to heat, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and other weather and adverse environmental conditions.The ability to travel between locationsRESPONSIBILITIESMake practice plans and prepare the team to compete in matches.Attend all practices and matches, including supervising on the bus to and from away matches.
