What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY School Nurse position at Marblehead Public-Student Services Department?
Marblehead Public Schools is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a ESY school nurse. One position is at the elementary level and the other is at the secondary level.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Address and promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of students and the school community
Provide health care through assessment, intervention, and follow up
Provide skilled nursing care as indicated
Write and implement individual health care plans for students
Monitor immunizations, managing communicable diseases, and oversee any infection control measures
Maintain student health records in compliance with FERPA, IDEA, and any other applicable regulations
Participate in school safety planning
Other duties as assigned by ESY Director or Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
Required Qualifications
Current DESE License as School Nurse (must have a Bachelors or Masters in Nursing to be eligible for DESE licensure)
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in MA, per Board of Registration
Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 25 pounds and sufficient mobility to navigate the school building
Preferred Qualifications
Pediatric nursing experience
Experience with SBIRT
School Nurses are part of the Unit A (Teachers') collective bargaining unit; salary is in accordance with that contract.
