JOB TITLE : Semi Driver -End Dump

LOCATION : Santa Barbara

Non Exempt Full Time

Work Schedule; Monday through Friday 6 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 00 p.m.

Hourly Pay Rate : $28.00 to $30.00 per hour.

POSITION Summary :

The Semi Driver-End Dump operates a Semi with an End Dump trailer to transport concrete and dirt to various locations. We are looking for drivers with a high degree of professionalism, a positive attitude, and a willingness to do a safe, quality, and efficient job.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following :

• Conduct daily pre-trip & post-trip inspections. Complete and submit vehicle condition reports at the end of the shift.
• Operates Semi with an end dump trailer to transport concrete and dirt to various locations in a safe & efficient manner.
• Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances up to approximately 120 feet.
• Use extreme caution when turning corners while operating the Semi with an End Dump Trailer.
• Operates hoist and lift equipment on the vehicle.
• Utilize a tarp to cover loads.
• Tarps all loads and climbs inside trailer secure load.
• Secures and verifies correct connections to king pin and fifth wheel assembly, air, and hydraulic lines before each route start and before each trailer swap.
• Courteously interact with customers to answer questions or respond to requests and notify the supervisor of any issues requiring management action.
• Maintains communication with the Recycling Yard Facility Supervisor to work efficiently.
• Must use tablet to service the work orders that have been assigned by the dispatcher.
• Reports incidents immediately to the Department Supervisor.
• Scan the customer site before and after dumping.
• Must be flexible to work early hours.
• Attend weekly mandatory safety meetings.
• Maintains a clean truck.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE :

EDUCATION :

The equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D and three to five years of commercial truck driving experience,

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Commercial license Class A with air brake, manual transmission endorsement and current medical certificate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Required to put on protective outfits, like gloves, and safety glasses. Safety footwear, and hard hat.
