What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - Cheshire - FT 32 hrs. position at MARC Community Resources Ltd?
Direct Support Professional-FT Sunday - Thursday 3pm - 11pm (40 hours)
The Direct Support Professional will follow agency policies and participate in related goals and plans, which promote inclusion as well as social and emotional growth for the individuals we support. The DSP is responsible for the health, well-being, and development of individuals we serve and works in conjunction with other staff members to provide the best possible care for all individuals. The DSP will provide comprehensive behavioral strategies and interventions to individuals with complex behavioral needs. In addition, the DSP will actively be involved in the creation, implementation, and updating of Positive Behavior Support Plans. The DSP also supports the MARC mission, vision, and guiding principles.
REQUIRMENTS:
- Must have a valid CT Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current CT registration and insurance
- PSL endorsement (or ability to obtain one).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED. Associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, or related field preferred.
- Prior PMT certification/experience
- At least 3-5 years on the job experience. Experience working with individuals with ID/DD exhibiting challenging behavioral needs required.
