Production Operations:
- Set up, operate, and monitor converting machinery (e.g., slitter-rewinders, die cutters, laminators, or sheeters).
- Feed raw paper rolls into equipment and ensure smooth operation throughout the process.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to meet specifications such as size, weight, and product type.
- Assemble and package finished products, including wrapping, labeling, and stacking.
Quality Control:
- Inspect products for defects, including size, alignment, cuts, and surface finish.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with customer and company standards.
- Remove and report defective products, ensuring rework or disposal as necessary.
Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance on equipment to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or maintenance teams.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
Process Monitoring:
- Monitor production metrics such as speed, output, and material usage to optimize efficiency.
- Minimize waste by properly aligning materials and ensuring precise cuts.
- Follow operating procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance staff, and other team members regarding production updates or issues.
- Assist with training new employees or cross-training within other roles as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Record production data, such as completed units, downtime, and material usage.
- Report any issues, such as delays or defective materials, to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Work Availability:
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with operating machinery or tools.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts, if needed.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in factory or manufacturing settings
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to [weight, e.g., 50 lbs], and perform repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Proficiency in assembly line operations and assembly tasks
- Previous warehouse experience
- Certification or experience in forklift operation is a plus
