Job Summary:
The primary role of the Inventory Control Specialist is to effectively manage all inventory within a high- volume manufacturing site and distribution center including but not limited to planning of materials, material movements, reporting, training of staff, discrepancy root cause identification and resolution, and creation of new and management of existing inventory systems.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Minimum of associate’s degree in finance or business management
2. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
3. Strong proficiency with ERP and inventory management systems (Syspro and Rite Scan a plus)
4. Strong computer and analytical skills (Microsoft Suite applications)
5. Strong problem-solving skills
6. Strong communication skills (Both oral and written)
7. Exceptional organization skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Attention to detail: Crucial for accuracy in inventory counts and record keeping.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage plant inventory accuracy and reorder points for our production and distribution facilities through transaction reporting, creation of management systems, and shop floor interactions.
- Ensure all site and intracompany transactions and inventory movements within the operation are accurate and discrepancies are resolved. These include but are not limited to the following:
- Finished goods and RM SCTs and transportation movements
- Raw material receipts
- Job material allocations
- Inventory movement transactions
- Job adjustments and closures
- All weekly cycle counts of raw materials and finished goods are completed, reported, and tracked for trends.
- All quarterly and annual physical inventory planning and execution
- Work directly with plant leadership and finance for financial adjustments to inventory variances
- Integrate all new product codes into the production process from dissolving discontinued finished goods and raw materials to production of new products.
- Continually review BOMs for product and job changes for accuracy verification and resolution to discrepancies
- Deliver frequent reporting to identify inventory transaction errors, identify where people have shortcut processes (behavioral reporting), and lead the correction of these root causes. Many reports are redundant and a backup of the supervisors or Site Leaders reporting. This is designed to bean oversight to ensure mistakes do not get missed.
- Initiate collaboration with the team members who were at the point of any errors.
- Train and retrain team members and help them better understand the processes and systems.
- Identify systems or process shortcomings and lead the activity to correct them continually communicating with stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift 25 - 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and step up/down a platform and perform repetitive tasks.
- Daily tasks require 75% office and 25% on the floor. These percentages may change depending on circumstances.
