Job Title: Maintenance Technician and Fabricator
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Position Details
Troubleshoot and repair Production Equipment as required as well as fabricate via welding, cutting, bending, machining and lathe as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
1. Ability to climb, stoop, bend on continuous basis; up to 55lbs.
2. Visual acuity and verbal communications skills.
3. Forklift experience/training required.
4. Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and sketches.
5. Ability to work with metric and standard dimensions.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure production machines mechanical guarding is kept up to date.
2. Ensure maintenance activities performed on equipment meet or exceed the manufacturer’s
requirements for quality and reliability.
3. Ensure manufacturer warranties remain effective by adhering to necessary safeguards and guidelines.
4. Perform troubleshooting, machine repairs, and replace components, as required.
5. Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines and plants systems.
6. Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
7. Inform Maintenance Manager of any operator-related actions, such as inadequate training or unsafe work practices that increase risk of maintenance problems and/or lost production downtime.
8. Fabricate equipment as required.
9. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
10. Perform record keeping, as required.
11. Maintain plant support systems in working order, i.e., heat, air, fans, air compressors and dryers, etc.
12. Responsible for housekeeping in shop and air compressor rooms. Ensure work areas are neat, organized, and safe.
13. Ensure production area floors and equipment are free from excess spare parts, worn parts, debris, and other items not necessary for operating and maintaining production equipment.
14. Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations; communicate as appropriate.
15. Adhere to the Company on call policy and can maintain an on-call status on either an intermittent or regularly scheduled basis.
16. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function of this position.
17. Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
High School or equivalent; mechanical aptitude/technical training.
Minimum 3 years’ experience with production machines.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in fabrication with all routine metals including cast iron, aluminum, and others.
If Internal- Must be in von Drehle role for at least 6 months to post for promotion.
Salary : $19 - $24
