URGENTLY HIRING:
Position Summary:
We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer with solid field experience to support and maintain the electrical infrastructure at our pulp and paper mill. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with equipment, troubleshooting issues on the floor, and making real-time improvements that keep the mill running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of motors, drives, lighting systems, power distribution panels, and control circuits.
- Work directly on the floor with electricians and maintenance staff to resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Conduct inspections and testing on switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and other plant electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair PLC/HMI issues; make field modifications as needed.
- Participate in lockout/tagout procedures and ensure all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with plant and OSHA standards.
- Maintain and update electrical drawings, documentation, and schematics.
- Support plant outages, upgrades, and new equipment installations.
- Assist in training and mentoring technicians and electricians on best practices and safety.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- 3 years of hands-on electrical experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment (pulp and paper experience preferred).
- Comfortable working in hot, noisy, and industrial conditions.
- Strong knowledge of motors, drives (VFDs), relays, control panels, and safety circuits.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and troubleshooting automation systems.
- Understanding of electrical safety practices including NFPA 70E, NEC, and LOTO procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under time-sensitive conditions.
